Buy Alfuzosin online

Alfuzosin belongs to a group of medicines called adrenergic alpha-blockers or alpha blockers. It is used to treat moderate to severe symptoms of enlarged prostate in other words, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). An enlarged prostate can cause urinary problems such as a dense need to urinate and difficulty urinating, especially at night. Alpha-blockers makes the muscles in the prostate, bladder and urethra relax, which improves the flow of urine from the bladder.

Alfuzosin can also be licensed to treat other diseases not mentioned here. Ask your doctor, pharmacist or other health care professional if you have any further questions and always follow their instructions. Also, please note that this drug is being sold and marketed under several trade names, including: Alfetim, Alfuprost, Alfural, Alfuran, Alfuzin, Alfuzostad, Benestan, Besavar, Dalfaz, Flotral, Innosensitive, Mittoval, Spedamyl, Unibenestan, Urion, UroXatral, Xatral

Alfuzosin precautions

Do not use Alfuzosin if:

  • you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Alfuzosin, other quinazolines (eg terazosin, doxazosin) or any of the other ingredients of this medication
  • you suffer from a condition that can cause a noticeable drop in blood pressure when you stand up
  • you have liver problems
  • you use other medicines that belong to the alpha-blockers

Take special care with Alfuzosin if:

  • you have severe renal impairment
  • you take other medications to treat high blood pressure. In this case, your doctor will check your blood pressure, this is particularly true in the beginning of treatment.
  • you experience a sudden drop in blood pressure upon standing, which manifests itself as dizziness, weakness, or sweating within a few hours after taking alfuzosin ratiopharm. If you get blood pressure you should lie down with legs in the air until the symptoms have gone over. These effects are usually transient and occur early in treatment. Treatment usually needs to be continuous.
  • you have previously received significant drop in blood pressure associated with the use of other drugs from the group of alpha-blockers. In such cases, your doctor will begin alfuzosinbehandlingen with a low dose and gradually increased
  • you suffer from acute heart failure
  • you have chest pain (angina) and treated with a nitrate as this may increase the risk of hypotension. You should discuss with your doctor whether you should continue treatment for angina, or discontinue the use of alfuzosin patch, especially if angina recurs or worsens.
  • you are undergoing eye surgery because of cataract (cloudiness of the lens) please inform your eye specialist before the operation that you are using or have used Alfuzosin ratiopharm. This is because the use of alfuzosin ratiopharm can cause complications during the surgery which can be managed if your specialist is.

The tablets should be swallowed whole. Do not crush, split or chew the tablets because it may happen that an excess amount of the active substance alfuzosin absorbed too rapidly in your body. This may increase the risk of side effects.

Alfuzosin drug interactions

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including OTC (over the counter) medicines.

Alfuzosin should not be used if you are taking other medicine belonging to the alpha-blockers and may interact with the following types of medications:

  • ketoconazole and itraconazole (medicines used to treat fungal infections) and ritonavir (medication used to treat HIV)
  • antihypertensive medications
  • medicines (nitrates) for angina (angina pectoris). Concomitant use of Alfuzosin ratiopharm and drugs used to treat high blood pressure and nitrates used as for the treatment of heart disease can lead to low blood pressure
  • drugs given before operation (general). Your blood pressure can drop dramatically. If you are having surgery, tell your doctor if you are using Alfuzosin.

How to take Alfuzosin and dosage

Alfuzosin should be taken after a meal and exactly as your doctor has told you. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are unsure.

The usual dose is a prolonged release tablet once daily. Take the first tablet at bedtime. Take the tablets after the same meal each day and swallow whole with sufficient liquid. Do not crush, chew, or split the tablets. The usual dose for elderly patients (over 65) is a prolonged release tablet once daily. The usual Alfuzosin dose for patients with mild to moderate kidney disease, a prolonged-release tablet once daily.

If you miss a dose or take to much Alfuzosin

If you take an excessive dose of Alfuzosin your blood pressure may suddenly drop and you may experience symptoms such as dizziness or fainting. If you feel dizzy, sit or lie down until you feel better. If symptoms do not improve seek immediate medical assistance since you may require hospitalization.

If you take too much Alfuzosin, or if a child has been exposed to this drug, immediately contact your doctor or a poisons information centre for the assessment of the risk.

If you forget to take Alfuzosin, do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose as this may cause a sudden drop in blood pressure, especially if you use anti-hypertensive medications. Take the tablet as normal dosing instructions.

You should not interrupt or stop taking Alfuzosin without first talking to your doctor. If you want to stop the treatment or if you have further questions about this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
