Bicalutamide precautions

Do not use Bicalutamide:

• If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Bicalutamide or any of the other ingredients in your medication
• Ff you are female
• If you are a child or youth
• If you are taking terfenadine or astemizole, which is used to treat allergies, or cisapride, used to treat heartburn and acid reflux.

Take special care with Bicalutamide:

• If you have liver disease. Your doctor may decide to take blood tests to check that your liver is working properly while you are taking this medicine.
• If you have diabetes. Treatment with bicalutamide in combination with LHRH analogues can alter your blood sugar level. Your dose of insulin and / or oral diabetes medicines may need adjusting.

The effect of Bicalutamide, and the other medicines, are affected if you take them together::

Bicalutamide side effects

Like all medicines, Bicalutamide can cause side effects although not everybody gets them.
